Upcoming Conferences & Calls for Proposals

The following conferences explore topics of interest to the Center’s mission and are currently accepting proposals for presentations. Please see below for more information about each conference and the proposal deadline.

  1. Eastern Illinois University’s “Making Excellence Inclusive” Conference – October 7, 2022
    • The annual RISE conference provides faculty and staff the strategies and tools to support students’ academic success. The conference is also designed to raise awareness of the diverse challenges our students face, whether as members of underrepresented groups, as first-generation college students, as non-traditionally aged students, or as students with disabilities. We welcome presentations on issues concerning inclusion, diversity, equity, trauma informed methods, social justice, belongingness, the impacts of the pandemic on all aspects of education, the intersectionality of any of the aforementioned, and other topics that pertain to the theme. We also welcome presentations that engage with Illinois’ new Culturally Responsive Teaching standards.
    • Submission deadline is May 6, 2022
  2. Kuyers Institute Faith and Pedagogy Conference – October 6-8, 2022
    • “The already rapid pace of change in the educational environment has accelerated in recent years, fueled by factors as varied as the foregrounding of health and safety, sudden shifts to online learning, political polarization among parents and students, challenges to civil discourse, shifting demographics, ambiguous student identities, and increased needs for student and faculty support. How can Christian educators, themselves burdened by present challenges, constructively respond? How might we retain a focus on investigating intentionally Christian educational processes in an unstable environment?”
    • Submission deadline is May 20, 2022
  3. Baylor Symposium on Faith and Culture – October 26-28, 2022
    • “The 2022 Baylor Symposium on Faith and Culture invites contributions from across the disciplines (including scholars, artists, and other practitioners) as we explore together how art seeks understanding and thus contributes to human flourishing.”
    • Submission deadline is July 1, 2022
